Bolt, PhD, Daniel

Daniel Bolt, PhD, is a Core Faculty member of the UWPRC. He is the Nancy C. Hoefs-Bascom Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education. Dr. Bolt’s research focuses on the theory and utilization of psychometric methods in both education and psychology. He will work on center activities and provide analysis support for the Core Research Project.

Duncan, PhD, Larissa

Larissa Duncan, PhD, is a Core Faculty member of the UWPRC. She is the Elizabeth C. Davies Chair in Child and Family Well-Being and an Associate Professor of Human Development and Family Studies in the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Duncan’s research focuses on the pathways through which contemplative practices can support healthy child and family development with other evidence-based strategies for prevention and lifecourse health promotion. She will work on center activities and will specifically contribute to supporting the expansion of prevention research and training on campus.

Oliver, PhD, MHA, Thomas

Thomas Oliver, PhD, MHA, is a Core Faculty member of the UWPRC. He is a Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Oliver’s teaching and research focus on the roles of intersectoral governance, leadership, and partnerships in population health improvement; the history and development of major health care programs and policies in the United States; the politics of public health policy; and comparative policy development in the U.S. and European Union. He will work on center activities and will specifically contribute to supporting the expansion of prevention research and training on campus.

Slack, PhD, Kristen

Kristen Slack, PhD, is a Core Faculty member of the UWPRC. She is a Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Slack’s research investigates the role of poverty and economic hardship in child maltreatment, focusing specifically on child neglect. She will work on center activities and will specifically contribute to supporting the expansion of prevention research and training on campus.

Wang, PhD, Yang

Yang Wang, PhD, is a Core Faculty member of the UWPRC. She is an Associate Professor in the Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Wang’s research expertise includes health economics as well as applied microeconomics and econometrics. She will work on center activities and provide cost benefit analysis support for the Core Research Project.

Wolfe, PhD, Barbara

Barbara Wolfe, PhD, is a Core Faculty member of the UWPRC. She is a Professor Emerita in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and in the Department of Economics in L&S. Her research investigates the influence of: income on health; resource adequacy at retirement and post-retirement; housing vouchers on children’s school performance and risk taking; and growing up with a sibling who has disabilities. She is currently working on several projects through the Institute for Research on Poverty. She will work on center activities and will specifically contribute to supporting the expansion of prevention research and training on campus.
