The Black Mamas Matter Alliance is pleased to present a joint report with A Better Balance, titled “Centering the Experiences of Black Mamas in the Workplace: How the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act Can Support Black Maternal Health.” This report includes the narratives and experiences of partners in our Alliance who work with Black pregnant and postpartum workers seeking pregnancy accommodations.
It also includes some historical context regarding Black women’s reproductive oppression and labor exploitation in the US, gaps in pregnancy accommodations law, and policy recommendations.
