Addressing maternal health inequities: AAMC

A recent AAMC News article describes several programs in U.S. states and cities that are taking different approaches to tackle higher rates of maternal mortality among Black, American Indian/Alaskan, immigrant and refugee, rural, and low-income populations. One program in California collects and analyzes hospitals’ raw data to quickly identify areas for improvement to reduce racial and ethnic disparities. It’s working: since that collaborative started, California’s maternal deaths have dropped by 65%. Read more.
