The UWPRC is hiring for the position of Center Deputy Director.

This position reports to the Director of the CDC-funded Prevention Research Center (UWPRC) and will serve as the Deputy Director of the Center in the School of Medicine and Public Health. The position requires both research and administrative/managerial responsibilities.

The candidate will have direct responsibility for overseeing day-to-day operations of the UWPRC. The center’s integrated program of research, community engagement, training, and dissemination is designed to effectively expand the conduct of high-quality applied health promotion and disease prevention research with a focus on the health of women, infants, and families most affected by the burden of health-limiting social, economic, and environmental conditions. The center will engage multidisciplinary campus researchers, public health practitioners, families, and both community- based and governmental organizations to develop a research and translational agenda emphasizing the testing and dissemination of policy and systems strategies to improve health and health equity.

The candidate will work closely with the Director and Associate Directors in a leadership role to establish, develop, and manage strategic planning, research, budgetary, and dissemination activities, including providing timely information to researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and the public through the dissemination of a range of publications and multi-media products, as well as center conferences and workshops.

The candidate will also have primary responsibility for hiring and directly supervising center staff and trainees.
