Mental Health in the Hmong Community: Training for Behavioral Healthcare Providers

The Hmong Institute in Madison is offering a unique training opportunity for anyone in health, healthcare delivery, research, etc.

Join ‘Mental Health in the Hmong Community: Training for Behavioral Healthcare Providers’ to learn from Dr. Dia Cha’s knowledge and experience on how to provide culturally appropriate communication and address language barriers in working with the Hmong community.

The Hmong community has been in Wisconsin for over 45 years and there has been limited resources to address the language and cultural barriers between behavioral healthcare providers and the Hmong community. To address these barriers, the Hmong Institute and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services offer a Hmong expert who specializes in cultural and medical anthropology to strengthen providers’ effort to address communication barriers.

This two-part virtual training workshop will help providers recognize, be in federal LEP compliance, and improve access to services for Hmong clients. Cost is $55 per session.
