Kristine “Krissy” Alaniz is a Clinical Research Manager within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. In this role, she oversees a portfolio of research aimed at improving maternal health outcomes, specifically among birthing people impacted by cardiovascular disease and hypertension. Dr. Alaniz has over 20 years of experience managing research and evaluation projects focused on advancing the health of birthing people, children, and families in Wisconsin and internationally. Her specialty areas include qualitative and mixed methods research, community-engaged participatory practices, mHealth, and perinatal health. Dr. Alaniz earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, a Master of Public Health from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, and a PhD in Public Health from Zilber College of Public Health at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
