UW-Madison Prevention Research Center Community BIRTHING JUSTICE Film Screening
April 11 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Prevention Research Center (UWPRC) invites community members to gather and join us for a free event where we will view the film BIRTHING JUSTICE, enjoy a warm meal, and collectively discuss the upcoming UWPRC project transforming birthing equity in our community on April 11, 2023 between 5-8 PM at Urban League of Greater Madison.
BIRTHING JUSTICE is a documentary produced by Women in the Room Productions that flips the victim-blaming narrative by centering the lived experiences of Black women and their advocates as they fix a broken system one birth at a time. A collective breath will be taken together at the end of the film, followed by a panel discussion. Information on the future UWPRC project combating maternal mortality in Wisconsin communities will be presented along with ways for community members to be actively involved and share their voices.
All community members are welcome. Registration is free and required. A warm meal will be provided to those who register. We look forward to seeing you and creating a just future together!
