Free Virtual Health Literacy Trainings: Restorative Justice in Healthcare

The City of Milwaukee Office of African American Affairs and The Milwaukee Advancing Health Literacy (AHL) Partnership are offering free virtual health literacy trainings for health care providers who serve vulnerable populations. The five biweekly training sessions will address health literacy best practices, racial equity, public health communication strategies, and Healthy People 2030 goals of checking understanding, involving the patient in decision-making, and building communication skills.
Participants are encouraged to attend all trainings, but may register for any of the following sessions:

Training 2: Attitudes, Cultures, and Beliefs | Thursday, July 28, 2022 | 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Training 3: Understanding Racism As A Public Health Issue | Thursday, August 11, 2022 | 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Training 4: Restorative Justice in Healthcare | Thursday, August 25, 2022 | 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Training 5: Interdependence & Accountability | Thursday, September 1, 2022 | 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
